Smoky Lake RCMP arrest and charge four in stolen vehicle

RCMP RELEASE:

On April 15, 2024, at approximately 12:05 a.m. Smoky Lake RCMP responded to multiple complaints of a suspicious vehicle driving though rural properties within the County of Smoky Lake, Bellis, Vilna and Spedden Atla. Upon Investigation, it was determined that the vehicle was stolen out of the Wetaskiwin area. Smoky Lake RCMP, with the assistance of St. Paul RCMP and St. Paul Police Dog Services located the stolen vehicle and arrested all occupants without incident.

As a result of the investigation, Edmonton resident Nathan Vernon Waskewitch (37) has been charged with:

  • Obstruction;
  • Failt to comply;
  • Possession of stolen property; and
  • Assault on Police Officer.

Fishing Lake resident Conway Sinclair Moyah (22) has been charged with:

  • Resist arrest

Maskwacis resident Robin Faye Strong (26) were charged with:

  • Resist arrest; and
  • Fail to comply.

Edmonton resident Tamarah Lee Dillion (30) has been charged with being unlawfully at large on a Parole Violation and will be remaining in custody. Waskewith was remanded in custody with the next court date of April 18, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort Saskatchewan. Moyah was released on conditions and is to appear next on May 9, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort Saskatchewan. Strong was released on conditions and is to appear next on May 3, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort Saskatchewan
