Lance joined Newcap TV as the team’s Sports Reporter in November, 2016. Lance grew up in Fenelon Falls, a small rural Ontario town where sports was a major part of his life.
His sports broadcasting career began in 2010 when he was the play-by-play voice of Fenelon Falls Secondary School Falcons hockey and football. His love for the industry led him to the College of Sports Media in Toronto, where he was honoured to be the recipient of the Sportsnet Scholarship for Outstanding Television Achievement.
Most recently Lance worked for Rogers Sportsnet and the Toronto Argonauts Football Club, two experiences that have been invaluable to his career. He’s hosted sports specialty shows, has performed stand-up’s in some of the country’s finest venues and now has the incredible opportunity to bring some of the Midwest Region’s great stories to life.
The following is a quote that he finds inspirational and words he lives by given his path to sports media.
“It is better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing than a long life spent in a miserable way.” – Alan Watts
As someone who grew up in a small town, he values building relationships and telling compelling local stories. Got a story idea? Reach out to Lance on twitter @theLPlive or send an email to email@example.com.
